International University of Sarajevo awarding of certificates for participation in TEF project competitions

The TEF (Tourism Education Future) project, of which IUS Life is a partner, is entering its final phase, and on Friday, May 31st, 2024, at the High School of Catering and Tourism, we awarded certificates and gifts to the students who participated in two competitions of this project.

This was an opportunity to reflect on the TEF Blended Skills Competition, which was held in Fatima, Portugal, and where the three-member team of this school achieved significant success.

Elma Hodzic, the contestant who left the most impressive mark in the TEF project, prepared a creative and delicious dessert, the Canolli Candel of Fatíma, presented the recipe and her innovative approach to making this sweet delicacy.

TEF Online Triplicity Contest contestants Ilma Mutapcic, Sara Muzaferija, and Iman Basic were also awarded certificates for their outstanding teamwork.

Within this project, students from Greece, Portugal, and Bosnia and Herzegovina competed and the task was to present a sustainable short trip in three cities; Kalamata, Sarajevo, and Fatima.

The student contestants shared their experiences today, from completely not knowing the city of Kalamata, which was their task, to a very creative and informative presentation, with which they won second place after peer-to-peer voting.

The event was also joined by IUS Erasmus Buddies from this school Selma Jasarevic, Hamza Kurtovic, and again Ilma Mutapcic who spoke about volunteering and how it is to be firsthand to help students from Italy on an internship in our city.

IUS Life thanks the school director Bahra Pasic, Professor Anisa Bidzevic, and all the students and teachers of this school for their support and cooperation in the implementation of TEF project activities.

The High School of Catering and Tourism Sarajevo was founded in Sarajevo in 1956, and today it is a school where students excel in the culinary and service arts and where gourmets pause in front of creative, flavorful, and visually stunning traditional and international cuisine.

Thanks to the TEF project, we discovered incredibly creative young people, true promoters of our culinary arts, and future professional tourism workers.
