From 6 to 8 March 2023 Alba hosted The Tourism GLOCAL Conference, an event on tourism that brought together representatives of the European Commission, representatives of the main European formations and a representation of companies in the sector. During the 3-day Tourism Glocal Conference, the capital of the Langhe region hosted meetings, round tables and working groups with more than 50 representatives from Europe and North America.

The event also represented the annual meeting of the Tourism Thematic Team (TTT), the working group for research and development of innovations in the tourism sector organised under the aegis of EfVET, the leading European network for technical and vocational education and training founded in 1991.

On the 29th and 30th of April, more than forty participants from Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Finland, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal and Spain debated various topics that cut across vocational education, as part of the TEF - Tourism Education of the Future project, supported by the Erasmus+ programme. The opening session was attended by the Vice-President of Ourém Town Council, the President of ACISO - Ourém Fátima Business Association and the Technical Pedagogical Director of Fátima Hospitality School, where the event was held. The panels focused various topics, such as micro-credentials, one of the new forms of skills certification; the way the Artificial Intelligence can be used in Education and Training; Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in the classroom; burnout and student well-being. During the discussion, several experiences and digital applications were disseminated, so that teachers can use in their daily teaching, with the aim of bringing students on VET courses closer to the labour market.

During the workshop, there was a guided tour to the medieval castle of Ourém and the Sanctuary of Fátima.
