TEF Masterclass: "Innovation in natural Tourism products-project-based learning: The Carmelite Route and The Carmelito"
On April 3rd, INSIGNARE presented a masterclass about its award-winning multidisciplinary project “Carmelite Route”. During one hour, it was presented how a group of teachers, from several subjects, and students, from several courses, worked collaboratively towards developing the Rota Carmelita (Carmelite Route), a unidirectional tourist trekking route from Coimbra to Fátima, within the boundaries of Ourém Municipality. This resulted in the creation of 2 new gastronomic products, using indigenous ingredients: “O Carmelito”, a pastry designed to be allusive to the Route, and also “Pão Doce de Bolota”, a bakery product with acorn flour. Several landmarks’ descriptions were designed to be included on the Route website.
